The homeowners of this property in Galleywood Chelmsford had the desire to transform and expand their family home without having to move. This loft conversion added two new bedrooms, a bathroom, storage facilities and a bright airy landing area, offering them the extra space they desperately wanted.

For this loft conversion, planning consent was applied for by our team at KJM Design and Planning Services in order to incorporate two cottage style dormers on the front elevation, as well as a box dormer on the rear elevation.

The ridge height of the existing roof wasn’t high enough to make a loft conversion suitable, therefore as part of the planning application we applied to have the ridge height increased for feasibility.
